Junior Dragons students that complete the Junior Dragons program will transition to the traditional Shin-Toshi belt system. 9-year old students: After a student has their 9th birthday, they will begin to follow the Gryphons/Tigers belt system (this is the traditional Shin-Toshi belt system. These students will be able to test into the Gryphons/Tigers belt system at the the belt rank they qualify for.  Students will then continue their progression following that system. 8-year old students (and younger): Students that complete the entire Junior Dragons program (through the Black Stripe Belt) before their 9th birthday will also begin to follow the Gryphons/Tigers belt system.  These students will test into the Gryphons/Tigers belt system at the belt rank they can qualify for.  Students will then continue their progression following that system. Note: Students may test into the traditional Shin-Toshi karate belt system as high as Orange Belt (however, this will be rare).  This transition will be a great tool to allow the students to still feel proud of their belt rank progression.  They will be able to review & improve upon techniques they learned in the Junior Dragons as they progress in the traditional system.
